The School is monitoring the situation regularly and is taking a dynamic approach to this complex and changing picture, following the advice of Public Health England (PHE), to ensure the health of our whole community, including pupils and staff.
School measures addressing the Novel Coronavirus: additional update
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has updated its advice on travel. In line with this, and in addition to our previous guidance, the School is asking that any member of the school community, who has travelled to or received visitors from one of the following destinations, should self-isolate, even if asymptomatic, and call NHS 111:
- China
- Daegu or Cheongdo (Republic of Korea)
- Any Italian town under containment measures
- Iran
We are also strongly advising against travelling to, or receiving visitors from the following destinations:
- Cambodia
- Hong Kong
- Northern Italy*
- Japan
- Laos
- Macau
- Malaysia
- Myanmar
- Republic of Korea*
- Singapore
- Taiwan
- Thailand
- Vietnam
*Please refer to PHE’s guidance for specific details.
If a member of the school community has travelled to one of the aforementioned destinations and has developed flu-like symptoms, we ask that they stay at home, call NHS 111 and self-isolate. Furthermore, if any member of the school community has been in physical contact with someone from one of the areas in the first list or anyone from the second list, who is symptomatic, we ask that they follow the same instructions.
It remains highly likely that restrictions will still be in place at Easter and, as before, the School is asking that everyone now plan for that eventuality. We will continue to update members of the school community accordingly.
