There are four Houses named after the quarters of the Westminster coat-of-arms: Fleuries, Lions, Martlets and Tudors. Each Housemaster or Housemistress has an assistant and will appoint every term a new House Captain and other officials from the Year Eight boys.
The Houses compete against each other in a variety of events during the year, ranging from athletics, swimming and chess to music, public speaking and Scrabble. House points can also be earned by producing good work.
Belonging to a House is an important part of life for Under School pupils, enabling them to find new activities which they might enjoy and to develop friendships with boys from different year groups. The House system also enables staff to observe how boys are progressing outside the classroom and to offer support and encouragement in their endeavours.
