Welcome to Westminster
Westminster Under School is an independent preparatory school for boys, aged 7-13, in the centre of London. The school has a rich history, dating back to 1943 when it was founded in Little Dean's Yard, just behind Westminster Abbey. Since 1981 the school has been situated on Vincent Square, overlooking the Westminster School playing fields. The boys enjoy their time at school and are encouraged to think for themselves, to engage fully in class discussions and to take pride in their work.
Entry to the school is by examination at Year 3, 4 and 7. Academic standards are high, but standards in the classroom and good sport, music, art and drama are by no means mutually exclusive, and staff value the pupils' achievements in all areas of school life.
With around 285 pupils, staff are able to build strong relationships with the boys. Whilst we encourage academic excellence, we aim to produce well-rounded young men who are respectful of each other and aware of their responsibilities in an increasingly challenging world.
This website attempts to give you a flavour of life at Westminster School, but the special atmosphere of this school cannot be contained purely in words and pictures. Please contact us if you wish to know more about Westminster Under School.
