The day begins for all pupils with registration at 8.30am, but boys may arrive at school any time after 8.00 am. There is assembly at 8.35 am and lessons begin at 9.00am.
The assemblies vary from day to day. On some days there will be a visiting speaker; on others there might be reports on sporting events. On Thursdays, boys and staff go to St Stephen’s Church in Rochester Row for a service where the choir sings an anthem, a senior boy reads from the Old or New Testament and there is a short address.
There are eight or nine periods during the day and lessons are thirty-five minutes long. There is a mid-morning break and all boys have school lunch in the dining hall, with sittings staggered every three or four minutes during the lunch hour. Vegetarian options are always available.
The youngest boys finish school at 3.20pm every day, but the older boys finish at 4.00pm. On Games days (Monday and Wednesday) the senior boys do not finish school until 4.30pm
