We believe that ICT has an important part to play in enriching children’s learning experiences, both as a tool and as a source of information.
Our aim is to encourage every boy to become a confident autonomous user of a range of ICT resources along with an understanding of the major role that ICT plays in most aspects of everyday life.
In the face of continually changing hardware and software they need transferable skills and a flexibility of approach which they can apply. They can learn ‘how to learn’ and how to use the wide range of ICT resources available.
We provide opportunities to use software creatively to produce presentations, videos, photos, animations and simple programming along with skills to help support work in other subjects. As well as developing independence there is also a place for discussion and sharing of experiences along with collaborative work for more extended projects.
As the use of the Internet becomes more widespread the boys are involved in discussions and projects about its benefits and drawbacks. We place an emphasis on the understanding of responsible use of areas such as email, blogging and social networking.
