Games are played twice a week on Vincent Square, with Football and Cricket being the main sports, but there are teams for Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletics at every age level. As the boys get older there are opportunities to participate in other games such as Hockey, Rugby, Basketball and Tennis and some activities take place on the all-weather pitches at Battersea Park. Each term there is a full programme of inter-school and inter-House fixtures which allows every boy in the school to keep fit and healthy. All boys are encouraged to play games in the right spirit, with sporting behaviour promoted and celebrated. Standards in the top teams are high and we have enjoyed tremendous success recently in competitive matches against strong opponents.
All pupils in Years 3 – 7 have a swimming lesson each week in the Queen Mother Sports Centre on Vauxhall Bridge Road or an activities session on Vincent Square. The stronger swimmers are able to compete in inter-school galas. There is a PE lesson every week when the boys will learn the techniques of a variety of sports.
There are some after-school sports clubs run by coaches from outside school, with Chess, Bridge, Judo, Fencing and Swimming being particularly popular.
