Art and Design at the Under School plays a vital part in the development of each student as a whole, combining ideas and thoughts with senses and emotions, so that each boy can experience the joy and pleasure of making and developing a visual language.
We aim to provide a structured approach to the acquisition of observational and practical skills, together with a sense of creative adventure and achievement. All boys have weekly Art and Design lessons throughout their time here and enjoy regular competitions and exhibitions of their work. We are immensely fortunate to be so close to Tate Britain, the Royal Academy and The National Gallery, which makes it easy for us to organise regular visits to see some of London’s finest works of art. We try to inspire the boys with our own enthusiasm and are always looking for ways to get the best from them by devising engaging projects. Each boy is unique to us and we believe that we are here to nurture their own particular vision.
